Lieksa Brass Week courses 24-31 July 2027

Join our courses at Lieksa Brass Week, where you can hone your playing skills to perfection, with performances alongside fellow brass players serving as the highlight of the week! The instructors include both international and domestic artists. The program includes private lessons, group instruction, and ensemble playing. In addition, Lieksa Brass Week features high-quality concerts every day—perfect for finding inspiration!

The names of the instructors for the summer 2027 courses will be announced soon. Registration for the courses opens in November.

  • In private lessons (30 min/day), you will receive instruction tailored to your current playing level. Tuition is available for the following instruments: trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. If you would also like to participate in the Ensemble Course or the Conductor Course—at no extra cost—please first register for Basic Tuition on your instrument, then select the Ensemble Course on the registration form and choose the option “for basic tuition participants.”

  • The masterclasses are primarily aimed at brass music students, professionals, and other advanced brass players. Instruction is available for the following instruments: trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba. During the masterclasses, participants will refine the repertoire they have brought with them through group instruction (3 hours per day), while also developing performance skills alongside technical aspects of playing. Participants may also choose to join ensemble sessions; registration for these takes place on-site at the start of the course.

  • Participate with your own brass ensemble, or as an individual brass or percussion player. You can spend the week focusing on developing your ensemble playing! You can play daily in both small ensembles and a large ensemble. You may also have private lessons on your instrument—please see the section on Basic Tuition.

  • This course covers conducting skills, such as beat patterns, conducting technique, and rehearsing an ensemble. You will have the opportunity to conduct a large ensemble. The course is suitable for both beginners and those with prior conducting experience. You may also have private lesson on your own instrument (brass or percussion); please see the section on Basic Tuition.

  • As a passive student, you may attend masterclasses and the ensemble course as an observer. The course fee covers participation for the entire week. Shorter-term participation is also possible via a daily fee.

  • You can register by filling out the registration form. The course fee is paid at the time of registration.
